How Long Does Inpatient Rehab Last?

The short answer to “How Long Does Inpatient Rehab Last?” is “It depends.” And that is because Prominence Treatment Center tailors each treatment program to every individual, so there is no silver bullet time frame.

“How long is your treatment program?”

This is usually one of the first questions any prospective client has for Prominence Treatment Center. Because inpatient treatment removes you from your everyday life, it’s a fair question that needs to be answered. But because there is no one one-size-fits-all solution, let’s take a look at how we determine the length of your stay.

Before you are admitted to Prominence Treatment Center, you have an intake interview. During this time, we assess your addiction and your treatment needs. Then, with the help of one of our world-class therapists, we outline your plan to overcome addiction. We help you choose which addiction therapies you want to participate in, like art therapy or yoga therapy, to successfully overcome your addiction.

Our experience has taught us that the answer to the question, “How Long Does Inpatient Rehab Last?” is usually between 30-90 days. We’ve found this time frame to be effective for our clients to get the treatment they need for long-term success. The overall average time spent at our inpatient facilities is 45 days. This is enough time for us to really help someone turn their life around.  But that doesn’t mean 45 days is the perfect amount of time for everyone.

“Do I Have to Stay the Whole Time?”

No. We do not force you to stay the entire time we recommend. There are many reasons why people leave early. But it’s always up to the individual to decide whether to stay for the recommended time.

But when we recommend a time frame for a client to stay at Prominence Treatment Center, it’s because we believe that duration will give you the best chance at sobriety. The recommended stay is dependent on multiple factors.

Your current state of addiction and specific diagnosis are two factors that impact your stay. The severity surrounding your addiction greatly impacts your length of stay. When someone is admitted who has a debilitating condition, it doesn’t allow for them to live any semblance of a normal life, we know that their stay will be longer than most. If someone has a dual diagnosis and we have to treat two different disorders, then the individual will most likely have to stay longer as well. This is why, despite giving you a 30-90 day window, we cannot in good faith provide a guarantee on how long does inpatient rehab will last.

The Non 12-Step rehab program isn’t about checking off steps to complete rehab. It’s about long-term sobriety. That’s why we customize treatment plans for each individual. Therefore, it you are seriously considering an inpatient rehab program, be assured that Prominence Treatment Center will find the right solution for you.
