What is Methamphetamine?


Meth AddictionMethamphetamine is a drug that is in the family of amphetamines. Methamphetamine is a central nervous system stimulating substance. Meth can be very easily made because of its easy to find ingredients. The effects of meth are long lasting energy and lack of appetite. Depending on the method of entry into the body, meth can have great effects on alertness levels and euphoria. The most common methods on entry into the body are snorting, smoking, or injection. These methods cause dopamine levels in the brain to rise to very high levels and in turn give way to the feelings mentioned earlier. When taken, meth can increase both heart and respiratory rates.  Methamphetamine causes the brain to be flooded with dopamine, increasing feelings of alertness and causing euphoria.
